Bomarzo Monster Park and Tribotti Winery

Monster park
On friday LdM had another organized field trip. These field trips are great they are only 15 euro and it includes transportation, lunch and activities for the whole day. Most people from my Rome program already left for break so me and Brady were the only students from the Rome program. Everyone else on the trip was from the 3 cities program. It was a nice chance for me to meet everyone from the 3 cities program.
We meet at the school in the morning and got on a bus to head to Viterbo. It think the ride was less than two hours, so it was not too bad. I slept must of the trip. Our first stop was Bomarso Monster Park. Barbara our LdM advisors showed us around the park. It was really interesting. The park was built by a Prince whose wife had died. He made the park for her. The statues in the park are suppose to scare and amaze you. My favorite was a monster that you could walk inside his mouth.

After the park we got on the bus and headed to Tribotti Winery, where we had a wine tasting and also ate lunch. The owner of the winery gave us a tour. They had a beautiful view of the country side there. The winery was started in 2004, so its very new. Everything the make is organic and the entire business has zero impact on the environment. The wine was really good. After the wine tasting we headed to the owner's home, which is also a bed and breakfast. There we had lunch and of course we drank their with lunch. During lunch we also tried the honey they make there. After lunch we meet their donkey. The donkey was so cute, and we all took pictures of him.

In Catiglione
Before heading back to Rome we stooped in the town nearby called Catiglione. The town was beautiful. After taking some pictures in the town we headed back to Rome.
